The 1st Annual Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod Natioals

(10-14-2010)-The Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods will be rocketing down the New Dunn Benson Dragstrip, October 15 and 16, 2010. The Best of The Best in Outlaw Pro Mod Racing will be battling for the first place prize of $5000. The last Big Dog winner, Ronnie (Superman) Gardner, and latest winner for the Quick 8 Outlaws, Dewayne (Hog Farmer) Silance, will be headlining the Big Show. Be prepared for some flame-throwing, 3 second, 180 MPH passes on the 660 feet of concrete racing surface. Many of the top Pro Mod Teams from east coast will be in attendance

 



 

Derrick Townes Racing

(10-14-2010) In his second year Pro Modified drag racing, Derrick Townes, driving a 68’ Camaro with a Blower motor, is a Pro Mod car to watch out for this year in the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod series. Finishing 5th in 2009 and 3rd in 2010 for the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association, Derrick intends to do better for 2011. Sponsoring this green, mean machine is none other than Redskins’ Defensive tackle, Corneilus Griffin. At ATCO New Jersey, Derrick qualified #4 with a 6.31 @ 233 MPH. The 2nd round was the best side by side run of the day, Derrick’s 6.21 @ 232 MPH defeated Tommy Gray’s 6.22 @ 238 MPH. In the semi’s the Green Machine was on a roll with a 6.27 @ 231 MPH against Matt Deitch who had to lift on the pass. The final round would have been Derrick versus Steve Drummond. Due to curfew restrictions the final round was not completed.

Kenny Fergerson, King of the Beach Pro Mod Winner

 

(9-25-2010) Colonial Beach, VA
Kenny Fergerson wins the King of the Beach over Terry Dehaven with a 4.28 ET while Dehaven explodes his blower on a 4.94 lossing pass. In the semi final round, Kenny crossed the finish line before Troy ( Short Dog or Sleepy Dog) Henderson did. Troy's 4.17 was not good enough to catch Kenny's 4.28. In the Quarter finals, it was Kenny's lucky day, when Jim (Batman) Teachman red lighted on a 4.20 flame throwing pass while Fergerson had to lift at the 60ft mark. Kenny's 2005 Pontiac Grand Am with Big Buck motor was # 7 Qualifier out of a 16 car field
